Job summary

Ascension Health in Nashville, TN is seeking an experienced ICU Nurse Leader to oversee daily department operations, ensure timely patient access, and deliver high-quality care in a fast-paced Saint Thomas Midtown ICU.

You will delegate duties based on staff skills, participate in quality initiatives, conduct hiring and staff development, and lead the team to meet clinical objectives while maintaining compliance and safety.

Qualifications

• RN licensure and BLS required; leadership experience preferred.
• 3 years of clinical experience with 1 year in leadership.
• ICU experience strongly preferred.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Assess daily patient access needs and ensure that appropriate patient care is provided. Provide oversight involving all aspects of nursing department operations. Deliver quality patient care and ensure implementation of clinical objectives.

• Delegate appropriate duties to clinical staff based on their assessed skills and abilities, maintaining proficiencies related to job functions and processes through ongoing monitoring of daily operations. Collaborate with department leadership to ensure processes are up to date and followed.

• Participate with ongoing quality initiatives, auditing projects and development of plans for improvement.

• Conducts hiring, training, directing, development and evaluation of staff.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross Accepted.

• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education:

• Required professional licensure/certification AND 3 years of experience and 1 year of cumulative leadership experience required.
