Job summary

Eastern Oklahoma VA Health Care System seeks an Assistant Nurse Manager to support the Nurse Manager in overseeing operations of a nursing unit. You will draft schedules, help with staff performance evaluations, and lead planning and evaluation of patient care with a focus on evidence-based practices.

The role requires a nursing license and leadership experience, with shifts from morning to evening and a focus on high-quality patient care within a VA facility.

Qualifications

• English language proficiency required for direct patient care.
• Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate accrediting agency.
• Current, full, active, and unrestricted nursing license in a U.S. state or territory.
• Knowledge of VA qualification standards and evidence-based practice.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Nurse Manager in overseeing operations of a nursing unit/patient care area.
• Draft schedules and manage leave for approval by the NM.
• Provide input on performance evaluations and staff development.
• Lead staff in planning and evaluating outcomes using clinical judgment.
