Job summary

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs seeks an Assistant Nurse Manager to support the Eastern Kansas Health Care System (EKHCS) mission and values.

You will oversee high-quality, patient-centered care at unit and system levels, demonstrating leadership to improve care across groups of patients. Responsibilities include nursing leadership, evidence-based practice, discharge planning, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to ensure cost-effective, compassionate care, with a day shift

Qualifications

• English proficiency required for direct patient care.
• Graduate from an ACEN/CCNE-accredited nursing program.
• May require Master's bridge program eligibility for RN licensure.
• State license required upon appointment; may be temporary until licensure.
• Foreign nursing education must be evaluated for equivalence.

Responsibilities

• Provides full range of nursing services utilizing the nursing process.
• Administers prescribed therapies with nursing judgement.
• Promotes discharge planning and follow-up care as needed.
• Includes patient and family in plan of care and education.
• Leads and collaborates with care teams to improve patient outcomes.
