St. Francis Hospital, The Heart Center, is New York State's only specialty designated cardiac center and a national leader in Cardiology & Heart Surgery.

This Assistant Nurse Manager - Critical Care role supports daily patient care for geriatric to neonatal patients and leads nursing teams on assigned shifts. Eligible candidates will have a BSN, NY RN license, ACLS/BLS certification, and 2–3 years of critical care experience, with management experience preferred.

Qualifications

• BSN required.
• 2-3 yrs critical care experience required.
• Minimally one year related clinical experience required.
• Management experience preferred.
• RN Licensed professional nurse in the State of New York.
• ACLS and BLS certified from the American Heart Association.
• Competent in data collection and analysis and the application of statistical tools.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for daily patient care and personnel activities on an assigned shift.
• Responsible for the delivery of nursing care related to the care of the geriatric, adult, adolescent, pediatric and neonatal patients.
• Interprets the Philosophy and Objectives of the Nursing Department, together with the NCC and members of Nursing Department and Hospital Management.
• Coordinates unit activities for a given shift, by facilitating a stable and organized work environment through leadership, direction and delegation to provide and maintain quality nursing care.
• Coordinates and supervises in the interest of the Hospital, unit personnel activities on assigned shifts by promoting staff growth and development, participating in the evaluation process and counseling procedures, and determining and effectuating management decisions with respect to hiring, discipline, evaluations of performance and the direction and assignment of staff.
• Demonstrates educational and experimental qualifications in nursing practice; demonstrates the ability to guide, direct and influence the value and behavior of others.
• Enhances staff development through facilitation of the orientation process, involvement in staff meetings and as a direct resource person.

Salary Range

USD $59.04 - USD $85.92 /Hr.

This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
