Qualifications

• Valid New Jersey Instructional Certificate or eligibility or County Substitute Certificate.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the sport, training and conditioning, injury prevention and development.
• Ability to maintain a positive learning environment and high standards of conduct for athletes.
• Be in good physical health and able to perform duties.
• Excellent integrity and strong moral character and initiative.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Residency in New Jersey or willingness to obtain residency within one year of employment.
• Ability to read and write.
• Pass background checks and health requirements as mandated.

Responsibilities

• Coach athletes in sport-specific skills.
• Supervise team members and enforce rules; promote sportsmanship.
• Follow emergency medical procedures for practices and contests.
• Verify eligibility of team members per physical and academic standards.
• Plan and schedule regular practice sessions and attend contests.
• Ensure safety of facilities and equipment during practice and games.
• Assist athletic director with arrangements for competitions and transportation.
• Assist in budget preparation and procurement of equipment and uniforms.
