Bass Pro Shops in Springfield, MO seeks an Assistant Merchant I to support the Merchandiser in category planning, assortment selection, proprietary product development, pricing, space planning, promotions, and inventory review. The role emphasizes strong analytical and interpersonal skills, with exposure to apparel, hunting, or fishing categories, and offers development across the Merchants team.

Qualifications

• Minimum Degree Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred Degree: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, Product Development, Merchandising.
• Years of experience: 0 - 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Assists the merchant in the preparation of financial plans and business strategy.
• Analyzes historical data, current trends, and competitor pricing to forecast sales and inventory.
• Communicates effectively with cross-functional teams and vendor partners.
• Balances workload priorities to ensure successful execution of business initiatives.
• Assists in the development of Proprietary Product, identifying market trends, and developing product and price structures.
• Assists Merchant and Product Development team with product specifications, sourcing, forecasting, and marketing strategy.
• ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED.
