Job description

McPherson College is seeking outstanding applicants for the college’s Assistant Men’s Soccer Coach. This position is a part-time, 12-month, exempt position and is eligible for the college’s full employee benefits plan. This position also comes with housing and reports to the Head Men’s Soccer coach.

The Assistant Men’s Soccer coach will assist the head coach in managing all aspects of the program. The assistant coach is responsible for developing, guiding and teaching the game strategies for the sports program and providing the support necessary for the student athletes to be successful in their athletic and academic endeavors.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

1. Assisting the head coach with recruitment and retention of student-athletes
2. Scouting
3. Scheduling
4. Team travel
5. Community service
6. Academic monitoring with integrity
7. Enforcement of team policies and procedures
8. Off-season conditioning
9. Leading training sessions
10. Knowledge of and adherence to college, conference and NAIA rules and regulations
11. Full game-day responsibilities for the reserve team throughout the season

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree and intercollegiate playing experience required.

Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree, coaching education and coaching experience preferred.
