Job description

Purpose

This position assists the Head Coach with all aspects of the Men's soccer program, including coaching, recruiting, training, and student‑athlete development, while supporting the department's mission and the University's commitment to academic and athletic excellence.

Essential Job Functions, Duties & Responsibilities
  • Assisting in the planning and execution of daily practices and training sessions.
  • Providing on‑field coaching and skill development under the direction of the Head coach.
  • Supporting the recruitment and evaluation of prospective student‑athletes in alignment with the NCAA and GLVC regulations.
  • Coordinating team travel, managing equipment, and contributing to game day operations.
  • The role is instrumental in fostering a positive team culture that promotes academic achievement, athletic excellence, personal growth, and accountability.
  • Maintaining compliance with all University, NCAA, and conference policies.
  • Supporting student‑athlete academic progress and overall well‑being through collaboration with departmental staff.
  • Assisting with video analysis, scouting reports, and game preparation, while representing the program at departmental, campus, and community events as needed.

Physical Demands
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and talk or hear, including the use of a telephone.
  • The employee is occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb or balance.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 70 lbs.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but during game conditions the noise level can be loud.
