Job summary

Jackson State Community College is seeking a qualified candidate for the Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach position. The role supports the Head Coach in organizing, planning and coaching the JSCC Men’s Basketball Team.

The candidate will instruct players, assist with recruitment, coordinate travel, and ensure compliance with NJCAA and institutional policies while maintaining program standards in a dynamic college setting.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited college or university.
• Prior coaching experience.
• A commitment to knowing and complying with NJCAA, TCCAA, and institutional rules.

Responsibilities

• Instruct and teach fundamentals of basketball technique and strategy.
• Assist with recruitment of student-athletes.
• Plan and coordinate travel.
• Transport student-athletes as needed.
• Maintain equipment and facilities.
• Coaching duties for the team.
• Prepare student-athletes for competitions.
• Recruit prospective student-athletes to participate in basketball.
• Ensure compliance with national and collegiate policies.
• Other duties as assigned by the Head Coach.
