Under the Head Coach, you will organize practices, recruit prospects, develop players, scout opponents, coordinate travel and scheduling, and support campus community

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• Three to five years experience collegiate coaching or high level prep or AAU basketball.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with faculty, staff and students required.
• Demonstrated competitive coaching skills in area of sporting specialty.
• Knowledge of applicable team or individual sport and its playing rule.
• Must possess the ability to foster a cooperative environment.
• Must be able to organize and coordinate.
• Must have knowledge of NCAA rules.
• Must have the ability to understand, follow and enforce safety procedures.
• Must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Computer proficiency.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Assists in organizing, preparing and conducting individual and team practices, training, and competitionpreparation
• Assists in the identification and recruitment of prospective student-athletes for the men's intercollegiate basketball program, in accordance with America East & NCAA rules, regulations, guidelines and institutional admissions standards
• Assist with player development. Under supervision of the Head Coach, develop training methods to improve the overall skill development of players both in/out of season.
• Assist in coordinating training and practice sessions, ensuring that all appropriate safety guidelines and standards are maintained
• Assist with game scouting of opponents and preparation of game plan
• Support The Learning Center's initiatives in monitoring and advising of the program's student‑athletes. Promote a program culture of academic success and degree progress.
• Provides assistance in the coordination and administration of the program as requiredby assisting with scheduling & travel arrangements
• Represents the sports program to various institutional programs and to government agencies, funding agencies, students, parents, and the general public
• Maintain current health care certifications. (First Aid, CPR/AED)
