At C-2 Utility Contractors , as a Assistant Mechanic/Yard Laborer , you’ll provide assistance to the Sr Mechanic in basic repair and basic maintenanceof our fleet of diesel vehicles and heavy equipment related to telecommunications construction as well as provide assistance in the yard.

What you’ll do as a Assistant Mechanic/Yard Laborer

• Wash vehicles
• Maintain the yard
• Assist Sr Mechanic as needed
• Perform routine oil changes as needed
• Maintain service records and additional documentation as needed for DOT compliance
• Operate or work around heavy equipment and machinery
• Work in congested or remote areas as service calls dictate
• Maintain safe working habits/conditions according to all regulations, procedures and policies

What you’ll need

• To be 18 years of age or older
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company
• Valid standard Driver's License or Class A Commercial Driver's License
• Working knowledge of vehicle and equipment maintenance
• Experience/working knowledge in auto, diesel, small engine, and heavy equipment repair
• Able to maintain a safe work environment
• Able to work in all weather conditions

Physical abilities & exposures

• Routinely: Bend, lift, and twist and walk on uneven surfaces. Regularly lift 50lbs
• Occasionally: Occasionally lift 75lbs

Salary Range $18 - $22 per hour
