Responsibilities

As the Assistant Meat & Seafood Manager, your role is to help customers make healthy food choices by providing excellent service and managing a busy team.

• Assist the Meat & Seafood Manager in managing and merchandising the department for productivity and profit.
• Oversee ordering, inventory, product quality, and supervise the Meat & Seafood team.
• Coordinate production, merchandising, and sales through planning, direction, goal setting, communication, and teamwork.
• Lead a team to deliver high-quality products and excellent customer service.
• Participate in hiring, training, and developing team members.
• Manage inventory, enforce department practices, and ensure freshness and quality, following programs like “Clean as You Go” and “Fresh at 4”.
• Handle deliveries, operate equipment, and maintain cleanliness and safety standards.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations.

Qualifications

To qualify as an Assistant Meat Manager, you must:

• Be at least 18 years old with basic math skills. Have at least 2 years of professional experience, proven leadership, and 2-3 years in grocery retail, especially in Meat departments, is preferred.
• Be dependable, reliable, and customer-focused.
• Possess good communication skills and a positive attitude.
• Be flexible with your schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety standards in the department.
• Be able to stand for long periods, lift heavy products, and operate equipment safely.
