Job summary

GPM Investments' fas mart store in Richmond, VA is seeking an Assistant Manager to oversee daily operations and ensure top-tier customer service across all shifts. You will support the Store Manager, lead a team, and manage inventory, merchandising, and cash handling with a focus on profitability.

Open availability is required, including weekends and holidays, with second or third shift work expected. Competitive pay: $16.00–$18.00 per hour for full-time employment, plus weekly pay, a sign-on

Qualifications

• Open availability to work weekends, holidays, and second/third shifts.
• Valid driver's license and access to a personal vehicle with proof of insurance.
• Physical ability to perform cleaning, restrooms, and outdoor areas.
• Minimum age 21 years or older.
• Proficient English communication and basic math.
• Willing to learn and apply on-the-job training.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager with day-to-day operations.
• Run the register and help customers quickly and accurately.
• Coach and motivate team to upsell products and promotions.
• Help hire, train, and lead a high-performing team.
• Step in as acting manager when the Store Manager is off.
• Handle inventory, ordering, and merchandising to stay stocked.
• Maintain a clean store, including restrooms and fuel pumps.
• Create and manage team schedules for full coverage.
• Perform daily cash handling and deposits; oversee store financials.
• Provide leadership that motivates the team to excel.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Open Availability: You must be available to work weekends, holidays, and likely second or third shifts.
• Reliable Transportation: You must have a valid driver's license, access to a personal vehicle, and proof of insurance to complete bank deposits.
• Physical Readiness: Comfortable with tasks such as cleaning restrooms, taking out trash, and maintaining outside areas like pumps.
• Minimum Age Requirement: 21+ years old.
• Communication Skills: Proficient in English with basic math skills.
• Willing to Learn.
• Certification: Must have (or be able to obtain) a Food Safety Certification.
