Job summary

Vail Resorts in Vermont seeks a Ski School Assistant Manager to oversee daily operations of the Ski School, develop curriculum, schedule classes, and support instructional staff.

You will assist with hiring, training, payroll, equipment inventory, and guest feedback reporting, while ensuring safety and policy compliance. Strong leadership and English fluency are required.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED; BA preferred.
• Current PSIA/AASI or equivalent certification.
• 1–3 years ski/snowboard instructor experience and 1 year supervisory experience.
• Able to work a flexible schedule including nights, holidays, and weekends; fluent English.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily Ski and Ride School instruction, curriculum development, scheduling, and class assignments.
• Assist with administrative duties: hiring, scheduling, training, payroll, equipment inventory, and guest feedback reporting.
• Monitor instructor performance and provide feedback, recognition, or escalation as needed.
• Maintain knowledge of and adhere to applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
• Ensure compliance with safety programs and incident reporting.
• Coordinate with other management, departments, and third-party organizations.
• Participate in leadership forums and contribute to continuous improvement.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Job Responsibilities

• Oversee daily instruction at Ski and Ride School including curriculum development, scheduling, and assigning classes providing support with instruction as needed
• Assist with administrative duties including hiring, scheduling, training, payroll, managing equipment inventory and reporting on guest feedback
• Monitor and document instructor performance and behavior to provide meaningful feedback and direction, including recognition, correction action, or escalation if necessary
• Maintain knowledge of and adhere to all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies
• Adhere to all safety related programs including policy training and incident reporting
• Coordinate with other management, departments, and third-party organizations as needed
• Participating in leadership forums providing feedback and input on school operations, training, and continuous improvement opportunities
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required, Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred
• Current PSIA/AASI or equivalent certification required
• 1-3 years ski/snowboard instructor experience and 1 year of supervisory experience required
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, holidays, and weekends
• Able to meet the physical demands of ski and ride training and drills
• Must be able to communicate fluently in English

The expected pay range is $56,160.00 - $67,267.00. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
