Job summary

Madewell in Massachusetts is seeking an Assistant Manager to join the leadership team. You will help drive profitability through genuine customer connections, brand loyalty, and community engagement, while coaching the sales team for peak performance.

You will collaborate with the Store Director and Associate Store Manager to adapt strategies for business success and to ensure smooth operational support across divisions, including merchandising and service.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of retail management experience.
• Must bend, reach, and lift at least 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Support the Store Director & Associate Store Manager to impact business results and profitability.
• Own your designated division (Visual Merchandising, Operations, HR, Service & Selling).
• Manage store operations, systems, and technology with accountability.
• Assist with recruiting, training and development efforts as needed.
• Partner with leadership to create a collaborative working environment for all associates.
• Ensure the team consistently exceeds goals and delivers best-in-class customer service.
• Lead product knowledge sessions to boost associates' customer connections.
• Develop innovative community engagement and loyalty-building events.
• Step into various sales floor roles as needed.
