Job Summary
The
- Assist in recruiting, hiring, training, and developing a high-performing staff consisting of Member Service Representatives, Trainers, and Custodians.
- Assist in maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for all members, prospective members, and guests, ensuring staff follows superior customer service guidelines.
- Assist with Staff Management and provide backup support to the Club Manager as needed.
- Assist in scheduling and supervising staff.
- Oversee member service, ensuring staff provides a superior customer experience at all times.
- Assist in resolving or escalating employee issues or concerns.
- Participate in all front desk activities.
- Answer phones in a friendly manner and assist callers with questions.
- Handle new member sign-up and take prospective members on tours.
- Facilitate member requests, issues, and questions.
- Assist in overseeing cleanliness and maintenance of the facility.
- Order supplies within the specified budget based on club requirements.
- Track statistics and prepare reports (weekly, monthly, annually).
- Provide backup support for absent employees.
- Work approximately five days a week, with a 40-45 hour schedule depending on hourly or salary status.

Additional Responsibilities
The Assistant General Manager will assist in overseeing gym operations to ensure an exceptional “Judgement Free” member experience and club profitability.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Superior customer service skills, preferably in the fitness industry.
- Experience as a Member Service Representative at Planet Fitness is preferred but not required.
- Strong supervisory, diplomatic, and listening skills.
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Suite).
- Hardworking, enthusiastic, and energetic.
- Strong problem resolution skills.
- CPR certification (can be completed upon hire).
- High school diploma/GED required.
- Must be 18 or older.
Physical Demands
- Continuous standing and walking during shifts.
- Frequent talking with clients and staff in person or on the phone.
- Occasionally lift up to 75 lbs.
- Occasional exposure to toxic chemicals (training and protective equipment provided).
