Job summary

Petco is seeking an Assistant Manager to lead a Pet Care Center retail team, ensure exceptional customer experiences, and uphold Petco standards for pet care and store operations. You will collaborate with the General Manager, coach partners, and help drive sales while maintaining a safe, welcoming environment for pets and customers.

You will oversee daily routines, inventory control, and merchandising execution, stepping in for the GM as needed and supporting hiring, onboarding, and development

Qualifications

• At least 2+ years in retail, including supervisory or management exposure.
• Ability to lead, coach, and motivate a team.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with POS systems and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead store partners to deliver outstanding service and build customer loyalty.
• Coach and develop team members; manage onboarding and ongoing training.
• Ensure merchandising standards, inventory control, and operational routines.
• Drive sales, service, and operational goals from the sales floor.
• Step into leadership during the General Manager's absence and resolve escalated issues.
