Job summary

Martin & Bayley, Inc., DBA Huck's Market is seeking an Assistant Manager to oversee shift operations, customer service, and store policies. The role supports the Store Manager and may lead to promotion to Store Manager as training completes.

Responsibilities

• Gives all customers prompt and courteous service, including greeting customers via the gasoline intercom and adhering to Best In Class standards
• Observes shift operating hours as assigned by the Store Manager and helps fill shifts
• Works the store manager's days off and at least two evening shifts per week
• Performs tasks assigned by the Store Manager
• Communicates effectively with store associates and management
• Follows all applicable laws and ordinances
• Provides a role model of conduct for associates
• Ensures management is aware of sales, cash, or operating discrepancies
• Ensures all associates are in proper uniform and provide prompt service
• Completes a shift change report and records hours worked
• Rings sales and handles over rings and refunds per policy
• Completes daily paperwork and store deposits as directed
• Treats all associates with dignity and respect; informs Store Manager of personnel issues
• Ensures all shift procedures are followed and a safe environment is maintained
• Keeps store fully stocked and properly priced; maintains equipment and high-margin products
• Maintains store appearance (cleanliness, floors, windows, parking lot, restrooms)
• Reports maintenance issues to Store Manager
• Follows safety procedures for lifting, ladders, wet floors, and incident reporting
• Promotes Huck’s Bucks Loyalty app to customers and assists with sign-up and usage
