Job summary

Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is seeking a Nurse Manager in the Behavioral & Mental Health (BMH) Clinical Operations division. You will oversee daily operations, patient flow, staffing, and safe patient care in a high-volume pediatric setting, reporting to the BMH Clinical Operations Manager. A BSN and GA RN licensure are required.

The role emphasizes leadership, education, budgeting, and inter-disciplinary collaboration to maintain a culture of safety and excellence in care delivery.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience required.
  • BSN degree required.
  • Georgia RN license or multi-state license via eNLC preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supports environment for delivery of care for BMH patients.
  • Acts as clinical resource for BMH patient populations.
  • Drives admission, transfer, and discharge processes to ensure safe patient flow.
  • Serves as department leader on shift in absence of manager.
  • Manages and orders required supplies to promote quality patient care.

Job Description

Works under the direction of the Behavioral & Mental Health (BMH) Clinical Operations Manager to facilitate daily operations, including patient flow, staffing assignments, safe patient care, and to promote a healthy work environment at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.

Experience
  • Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience required
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1 year of management/administrative experience in a healthcare setting
  • Experience in pediatric and/or psychiatric nursing experience
Education
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Certification Summary
  • Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the single State of Georgia or Multi-State through the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association within 30 days of employment
  • Marcus Crisis Prevention Program Tier 5 training, or equivalent, within 3 months of employment
  • Professional Nursing Certification deemed by department required upon one year of hire

Job Responsibilities

  • Supports environment for delivery of care for BMH patients.
  • Acts as clinical resource for BMH patient populations throughout all areas of hospital, including Emergency Department and inpatient areas.
  • Maintains competence to provide and/or assist with clinical care, including acting as Code BERT lead.

  • Participates in educational process related to delivery of healthcare.
  • Maintains own professional development.
  • Fosters professional development of others via constructive performance feedback, input, and coaching.
