Job summary

Okemo Mountain Resort is seeking an Assistant Manager of Lift Experience to lead the Lift Experience team, oversee ropeways and conveyors, and drive safety and guest satisfaction. The role collaborates with Mountain Operations to plan on-mountain activities and staff development, with a focus on training, inventory, and cross-department coordination.

Starting wage range is $52,000 to $67,267 per year for the Winter Seasonal 2026/2027 period, with full-time hours and weekend/holiday availability;

Qualifications

• Strong management, communication, leadership and team building skills.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Supervisory or managerial experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, Workday/Guest Connect.
• Able to work weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the management and administration of our Lift Experience team to produce an exceptional guest and employee experience.
• Coach and motivate to ensure employees are aligned with Vail Resorts goals, values, and core competencies.
• Maintain an “expert level” status of lift experience functions, being proactive with industry trends within Vail Resorts and within the industry as a whole.
• Lead safety initiatives to reduce injuries and coordinate with Health & Safety.
• Prioritize and adapt in a constantly changing business and environmental setting.
• Build strong relationships with key managers outside the Lift Experience scope.
• Oversee and perform preventive maintenance activities.
• Develop maintenance routines and procedures.
• Manage projects assigned by Mountain Operations leadership.
• Responsible for hiring, training, and development of Lift Experience personnel.
• Ensure records and procedures are up-to-date and compliant.

The Assistant Manager of Lift Experience will provide leadership, management and direction to the Lift Experience department. Together with the Mountain Operations leadership team, this position will help ensure the overall success of daily operations, staff development, and future on-mountain planning and strategies that will drive our safety culture as well as guest and employee satisfaction.

The Assistant Manager of Lift Experience will oversee staff, ropeway systems, and conveyors. They will also play an important role in developing and maintaining a safe, inclusive work environment. Training, ordering, inventory, and coordinating with the various departments are also important aspects of this position.

Job Responsibilities:

• Oversee the management and administration of our Lift Experience team to produce an exceptional guest and employee experience.

• Oversee and perform preventive maintenance activities
• Develop maintenance routines and procedures
• Manage various projects assigned by the Manager & Director of Mountain Operations
• Responsible for the hiring, training, and development of all Lift Experiencepersonnel
• Assure that all records required by Okemo Mountain Resort and the authorities having jurisdiction are maintained and kept up-to-date including all operational procedures, operational logs and incidents
• Responsible for conducting training, Lift ExperienceDept. Policies, Vail Resorts policies, and ensuring paperwork & procedures are completed in a timely manner

Job Requirements:

Required:

• Strong management, communication, leadership and team building skills, skiing/riding ability, must be able to work in extreme weather conditions (winter/summer)
• Strong guest service focus experience
• Valid driver’s license required
• Supervisory or managerial experience
• Positive, solutions-oriented leadership
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, Workday/Guest connect
• Able to work weekends and holidays

Preferred:

• Mountain operations experience in a supervisory or managerial role
• Lift Maintenance experience
• Experience in crafting training programs and instructional manuals

The expected pay range is$52,000.00 /Per Year- $67,267.00 /Per Year. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
