Job summary

S&C Electric Company is seeking a qualified Assistant Manager for its U.S. Fabrication Organization in Chicago. The role oversees day/night shift fabrication operations, drives lean manufacturing initiatives, and ensures on-time delivery of parts.

You will coach teams, monitor KPIs, and lead safety and quality improvements across the department. The position requires a technical degree or equivalent experience, strong leadership, and ability to read blueprints, with a focus on process

Qualifications

• Four-year technical degree or commensurate experience.
• Lean manufacturing leadership and KPI attainment.
• Experience developing people and teams.
• Knowledge of metal fabrication, machining and finishing processes.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lean manufacturing processes to meet dept goals.
• Direct day and night shift fabrication operations (Dept. 463).
• Schedule employee work assignments to meet goals.
• Improve quality, delivery, productivity and safety using KPI boards.
• Coach direct reports and establish development plans.
• Investigate and resolve departmental problems and conflicts.
• Promote safety, housekeeping and report incidents.
• Write and conduct employee reviews.
