Nation’s Best Holdings is seeking an Assistant Store Manager for our Springtown, TX location. Support the Store Manager with daily operations, scheduling, and team leadership while delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring standards are met.

You will manage inventory, merchandising, and staff development, participate in safety and store projects, and drive performance in a fast-paced retail environment. Strong leadership and a driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3–5 years of retail experience with supervisory/assistant management.
• Strong knowledge of hardware, tools, lumber, or building materials.
• Proficient in POS systems and basic business software.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills.

What You’ll Do and How You’ll Contribute:

• Support the Store Manager with day-to-day store operations, including opening/closing procedures, coordinating team activities, scheduling support and task delegation
• Lead by example in delivering outstanding customer service and ensuring team adherence to service standards
• Work alongside the team in daily store operations, including customer service, merchandising, stocking, receiving and other hands‑on store activities
• Participate in and help coordinate inventory management, including receiving shipments, conducting cycle counts, monitoring stock levels and implementing shrink control measures
• Help execute sales initiatives and contribute to meeting or exceeding store performance goals
• Assist with training and mentoring staff, providing day-to-day direction and escalating performance concerns to the Store Manager as needed
• Assist with team meetings, communicating daily objectives and fostering a collaborative team culture
• Provide input to the Store Manager on employee performance and assist with employee relations matters and procedural compliance as directed
• Ensure the facility is maintained to company standards, including cleanliness, safety and functionality of store systems and vehicles
• Monitor and help enforce compliance with safety policies, procedures and operational protocols
• Handle special orders, investigate customer issues (returns, credits) and maintain regular outbound communication to grow customer relationships
• Learn and maintain a basic understanding of each store position and work alongside team members across departments, stepping in to support or fill roles as needed and when appropriately trained and qualified
• Assist with operational improvements, store resets, vendor program execution and corporate initiatives
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned to support store operations and business needs

What You Will Bring to Our Team:

• High school diploma or equivalent (required); additional education or certifications in management or retail operations are a plus
• Minimum 3–5 years of retail experience with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or assistant management role
• Strong working knowledge of hardware, tools, lumber, or building materials
• Proficient in POS systems and basic business software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Epicor)
• Proven ability to motivate, guide, and develop a team
• Valid Driver's License
• Exceptional customer service and problem-solving skills
• Comfortable working in a physical, hands‑on environment (lifting up to 50 lbs unassisted; more with help)
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Results‑oriented with the ability to serve stores with humility and be a steward of Nation’s Best’s values
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment while remaining adaptable and flexible
• Strong interpersonal skills with a willingness to consistently provide superior customer service skills
