Job summary

El Pollo Loco, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Manager to partner with the General Manager to uphold quality, cleanliness, and guest satisfaction. The role focuses on hands-on leadership, cross-training, and developing the restaurant team while ensuring adherence to EPL policies and standards.

The position supports restaurant operations, staff training, and continuous improvement with a goal of advancing toward General Manager responsibilities. This is a dynamic role within a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must have 2-4+ years of restaurant supervisory experience.
• Must obtain Serve Safe Certification and pass EPL FSA class upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with General Manager to monitor labor costs through scheduling, cross-training, and retention initiatives.
• Handle opening/closing procedures and security; coordinate setup, food prep, and cleaning.
• Conduct inventory checks and manage inventory records; handle food deliveries.
• Ensure service metrics meet goals and maintain cleanliness per EPL and health/food safety standards.
• Direct and prioritize team tasks during shifts; adjust staffing based on sales volume.
• Address customer feedback per EPL’s Just Say Yes Policy and escalate for swift resolution.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management to support operations.
