Firehouse Subs in Shelbyville, TN is seeking a full-time Assistant Restaurant Manager to lead daily shifts, drive guest hospitality, and build a high-performing team alongside our General Manager.

You will supervise opening, mid, and closing shifts; train crew members; manage inventory and prep; uphold food safety; support catering orders; and handle cash procedures with a focus on fast, friendly service.

Qualifications

• 1–2+ years supervisory or shift leadership in fast-casual/QSR.
• ServSafe Manager certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days.
• Active, hands-on leadership style and strong work ethic.
• Open availability for evenings, weekends, and peak lunch hours.
• Ability to stand long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Lead opening, mid, and closing shifts with a hands-on presence on the counter and sandwich line.
• Train, coach, and motivate Crew Members and Shift Leaders; adjust in-shift labor to sales trends.
• Enforce food safety, recipe compliance, portion control, slicer safety, and steaming procedures.
• Oversee daily prep, FIFO rotation, and verify deliveries against invoices.
• Resolve guest feedback promptly and fulfill catering orders with accuracy.
• Handle register audits, drawer counts, safe reconciliations, and closing procedures.

What You’ll Do

• Lead Shifts: Run opening, mid, and closing shifts with a hands-on presence on the counter and sandwich line, maintaining high energy and fast ticket times.
• Support the Team: Train, coach, and motivate Crew Members and Shift Leaders; adjust in-shift labor to match hourly sales trends.
• Maintain High Standards: Enforce strict food safety, recipe compliance, portion control, slicer safety, and proper steaming procedures.
• Manage Inventory & Prep: Oversee daily prep sheets, rotate food using FIFO, and verify incoming truck deliveries against invoices.
• Deliver Hospitality: Resolve guest feedback promptly and lead catering order fulfillment (box lunches, sub platters) with 100% accuracy.
• Cash & Security: Handle register audits, drawer counts, safe reconciliations, and daily store closing procedures.

What We’re Looking For

• 1–2+ years of supervisory or shift leadership experience in fast-casual or quick-service restaurants (QSR).
• ServSafe Manager certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire).
• Strong work ethic with an active, hands-on leadership style.
• Open availability for variable shifts, including evenings, weekends, and peak lunch hours.
• Reliable transportation.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and comfortably lift up to 50 lbs (boxes of meat, cheese, and produce).
