Job summary

Center for Disability Services in the Capital Region seeks an Assistant Manager to lead daily operations at our residential programs. This role emphasizes compassionate care and strong team leadership.

You will supervise Direct Care staff, ensure adequate staffing ratios, and deliver high-quality services to the people we support, under the direction of the Program Manager. We promote from within and support career growth.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; associate's degree preferred.
• Valid NY driver’s license in good standing.
• Minimum of one year related experience in developmental disabilities, mental illness, traumatic brain injuries or geriatrics.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily operational needs of a residence including the Direct Care Staff and the people we support as directed by the Program Manager.
• Perform direct care to the people of the residence.
• Assist the Program Manager supervise the Direct Care Staff assigned to the residence by ensuring that performance appraisals, adequate staffing ratios, and services are delivered to the people with quality and excellence.

One year relevant experience

Education

High School diploma or equivalent

Associate's degree preferred
