Job summary

AHRC Nassau in New York is seeking a supervisor to support Direct Support Professionals and ensure residents receive high-quality daily care. You will help supervise staff, train new employees, and coordinate services with nursing and medical teams.

The role involves scheduling, record-keeping for time and performance, managing budgets and transportation, and maintaining a clean, safe living environment. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Valid NYS Driver's License.
• One year experience working with the developmentally disabled.
• AMAP certified required.
• Good verbal and written communication skills as well as good organizational and administrative skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the supervision and training of Direct Support Professionals to ensure ongoing support for individuals.
• Assist with the training of new employees to ensure adequate staffing.
• Maintain weekly staff schedules by assigning shifts based on availability and resident needs.
• Maintain records of staff attendance, performance, deficiencies, and training needs.
• Verify daily documentation of treatment plans.
• Assist with residents' bank accounts and budgets; review monthly statements.
• Arrange transportation for residents to medical appointments and coordinate with agency vehicle availability.
• Discuss current medical status with site RN, physicians, and pharmacies.
• Coordinate with day programs to ensure service communication.
• Oversee housekeeping and upkeep to ensure a sanitary, safe living environment.
• Perform the responsibilities of a Direct Support Professional as needed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
