Job summary

OHEL Children's Home and Family Services in the Five Towns is seeking an Assistant Manager for its Day Habilitation Program. You will help create a welcoming, inclusive environment where every individual can thrive and supervise staff to deliver meaningful activities.

The role involves coordinating transportation, leading skills-building activities, and reviewing documentation. A high school diploma or GED is required; NY/NJ driver’s license strongly preferred, with a competitive benefits

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience supporting individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities preferred.
• Valid NY or NJ driver's license with the ability to drive a 15-passenger van strongly preferred.
• Ability to multitask and work collaboratively in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the direct supervisor to develop volunteer and skill-building opportunities that foster independence, enhance personal growth, and support individual goals.
• Assist in the day-to-day functioning of a Day Habilitation Program, including arranging transportation
• Maintain and organize program supplies, ensuring all necessary materials are available and appropriately stocked to support planned activities and needs
• Provide support to staff and individuals as needed, including implementing positive behavior strategies that promote safety
• Train, mentor, and supervise program staff
• Build positive relationships with families and collaborating programs
• Lead engaging activities that foster independent living skills
• Accompany participants to volunteer sites and community activities
• Review documentation and ensure timely follow-up

Eligibility for all benefits is based on hours worked, employment classification, and fulfillment of applicable waiting periods and plan requirements. This full time position is located in the Five Towns.

Salary: $50,000- $55,000
