Job summary

YKTA is seeking a Production Planning Supervisor to assist the manager in coordinating all production planning activities across the plant, aiming to maximize customer service, on-time delivery and efficient use of materials.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree or 4 years of related experience, 2-3 years of supervisory work in manufacturing, with strong computer skills and knowledge of inventory control and process flow.

Responsibilities

• Assist the manager to develop and manage production planning activities for the plant.
• Establish goals for inventory, purchasing, and supply base; manage material control and throughput.
• Communicate with customers and business development to ensure on-time delivery.
• Minimize production interruptions through effective procurement practices.
• Assist in planning the operating budget and provide training to team members.
• Maintain and develop plant systems for reporting and data access; ensure safety compliance.

Summary/ Objective:Assist the manager to develop and manage the overall production planning activities for the plant maximizing customer service, delivery, production utilization, material control, inventory control, and purchasing.Essential Functions (but are not limited to):Ensures safety of self and others by following all Safety Policies/Procedures and wearing all required PPE.Manage inventory levels including establishing goals, rotating stock, managing purchasing &supply base & developing methods and procedures.Develop long-range planning initiatives for production control group, which include continuouslyevaluating the plant’s needs, capacities, capital, expenses, etc. to meet the growth goals.Establish effective communication with various groups such as customers, business development etc.to ensure on-time delivery of products and team support.Minimize interruptions to production schedules through effective parts and materials procurementpractices.Assist in planning the operating budget for all areas of accountability.Provide training & development opportunities for members of the Conveyance team as required tosharpen the team’s performance skills presently and in the future.Work on maintaining and developing network system, which allows access to the plant’s manufacturingsystems to streamline information, and generate reportsRegular attendance is required.Other Duties:Must be flexible to work in all areas and in your department regardless of duties listed above in order to accomplish YKTA Goals and objectives.Required Qualifications, Education, and Experience:Bachelor’s degree is a related field or 4 years of equivalent work experience or training.Proficient computer and software skills.2-3 years supervisory experience in a production environment, preferably in the automotive industry.Preferred Qualifications, Education, and Experience:Working knowledge of plant logistics and inventory control/ flow processes is preferredEnvironment:Work is conducted in an industrial office/ plant setting.Frequent movement throughout an industrial plant environment being exposed to high noise levels and equipment normally used in stamping / welding/ Ecoat environments.Physical Demands:Able to lift up to 33lbs.Prolonged periods of standing on the plant floorAbility to safely operate PIT equipment.Able to traverse the plant facility.EEO Statement:YKTA desires to create and maintain a work environment that is committed to providing equal opportunity for employment and success for all team members.
