Job summary

Oasis Stop N Go is seeking an Assistant Manager to train as a store manager, supporting daily operations of a convenience store and filling in for the store manager when needed. You will learn the duties outlined in the store manager job description and assist in all facets of the business.

You will be responsible for delivering top-tier customer service, managing cash and deposits, stocking shelves, maintaining cleanliness, and supporting vendor relations and team development.

Qualifications

• Must be 19 years of age to sell alcohol.
• Minimum 3 months experience in customer service associate role or equivalent retail.
• Background check.
• Strong oral and written communication.
• Able to solve problems in sometimes challenging circumstances.
• Computer experience preferred.
• Occasionally requires lifting and moving up to 50 pounds. Frequently requires lifting and moving up to 25 pounds.
• Must be in physically good shape and able to stand during the entire work shift.
• Able to operate Passport cash register and count change to customers.

Responsibilities

• Exhibits excellence in customer service. Always greeting and thanking all customers and resolving any customer concerns that may arise.
• Report to work on time, neatly groomed and in uniform.
• Enter all sales in the Passport at the time of sale.
• Brew coffee, prepare and stock other dispensed beverages and supplies.
• Maintain cleanliness of the interior building including restrooms.
• Check-in vendor deliveries, ensuring all products invoiced are received.
• Complete and submit daily paperwork.
• Prepare and make daily deposits on the weekend, and when covering the store manager.
• Restock, face, and clean shelves and coolers. Verify no out-of-date merchandise exists.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the exterior building, fuel pumps, and parking lot.
• Complete daily manager site walks, looking for opportunities to enhance site image and monitoring the property for hazards that may exist.
• Prepare and stock fast food items. Learn hot and cold requirements.
• Attend store team meetings and contribute your concerns and ideas.
• Be flexible with changes, including the possibility of rotating shifts, exchanged shifts, and extra hours in emergencies.
• Be knowledgeable about, follow and enforce all company policies.
• Be safety and security conscious, following guidelines set out in the safety manual, and report any incidents to your store manager immediately.
• Treat customers, co-workers, and vendors as you want to be treated.
• Assist in coaching and developing other employees.
• Verifies that all company programs are executed in a timely manner.
• Assists with sales floor presentation.
• May be assigned specific responsibilities such as ordering and inventory.
• Performs other similar or related duties as assigned.
