Jersey Mike's in Kirkland, WA seeks an Assistant Manager with strong leadership and a passion for guest service. You will support the General Manager and supervise daily operations to ensure quality and efficiency.

This role includes hands-on training, coaching, safety/compliance oversight, and participation in recruiting and performance reviews. If you thrive in a fast-paced restaurant, you will lead a team to deliver exceptional guest experiences.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of supervisory experience in food service/retail/customer service.
• Serve Safe Certification.
• Ability to calculate and analyze data.
• Basic business math and accounting skills.

• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Restaurant General Manager and supervise operations during hours.
• Oversee customer service and supervise more than 3 staff.
• Maintain facilities, equipment, cleaning tasks, and financial controls.
• Handle HR tasks: crew training, coaching, and safety audits.
• Hands-on training and role modeling for staff.
• Provide leadership, motivate, and coach for operational excellence.
• Supervise Shift Lead and Team Members.
• Ensure service speed, guest relations, and product quality.
• Follow cash control, inventory, labor, and financial reporting.
• Participate in recruiting and performance management.
• Ensure maintenance programs for equipment and facilities.
• Ensure food quality and 100% customer satisfaction.
• Execute marketing plans in coordination with local/regional teams.

Job description

We are seeking an Assistant Manager with exceptional leadership skills and a passion for customer service.

Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

• Serves as the assistant to the Restaurant General Manager and provides additional management coverage of operating hours and direct supervision of operations in an individual unit
• Customer service interaction and management responsibility for more than 3 people
• Full responsibility for facilities and equipment maintenance, adherence to detailed cleaning tasks, and specific routine financial control
• Human resource responsibilities are crew training, ongoing coaching, feedback for hourly employees, health and safety audits
• Routinely performs hands‑on operational work to train employees, respond to customer service needs, or otherwise role model appropriate skills and behaviors in the restaurant
• Managers provide overall leadership; recognize and motivate members of the team, and coach and train the team for operational excellence
• Positions Supervised: Shift Lead (s) and Restaurant Team Member(s)
• Maintains fast, accurate service, and positive guest relations, and ensures products are consistent with company quality standards
• Ensures Occupational Safety & Health Act, local health and safety codes, and company safety and security policy are met
• Assists Profit & Loss management by following cash control/security procedures, maintaining inventory, managing labor, reviewing financial reports, and taking appropriate actions
• Participates in recruiting, interviewing, and hiring team members; conducts performance appraisals, takes disciplinary action, motivates and trains
• Ensures company standards on equipment, facility, and grounds are maintained by using a preventative maintenance program
• Ensures food quality and 100% customer satisfaction
• Ensures complete and timely execution of corporate & local marketing plans

Qualifications:

• (1 to 2) years of supervisory experience within the food service/retail/customer service industry.
• Serve Safe Certified
• Ability to calculate/analyze data
