Responsibilities
As an Assistant Manager you are responsible for all activities that occur during your shift, including:
- Cost controls, inventory control, cash control, and customer relations
- Staffing, paperwork, and adherence to standards
- Marketing, profitability, and maintaining store cleanliness
Day‑to‑day tasks include:
- Operate all equipment
- Stock ingredients from delivery area to storage, work area, and walk‑in cooler
- Prepare products and receive and process telephone orders
- Take inventory and complete associated paperwork
- Clean equipment and facility daily
Communication Skills
- Comprehend and give correct written instructions
- Communicate verbally with customers and co‑workers to process orders over the phone and in person
Essential Functions / Skills
- Perform basic arithmetic accurately and quickly (may use calculator)
- Make correct monetary change
- Take and process orders verbally, in writing, and by telephone
- Coordinate motor skills to make rapid, accurate movements with speed
- Enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen
Work and Physical Conditions
- Varying and sometimes adverse weather conditions when removing trash and performing other outside tasks
- In‑store temperatures range from 36°F in cooler to above 90°F in some areas
- Sudden changes in temperature during work
- Exposure to food odors, cornmeal dust, hot surfaces up to 500°F, sharp edges, and moving mechanical parts
Physical Requirements
- Standing for most tasks; walking short distances for short durations
- Lifting (heavy product deliveries up to 50 lbs, shelving up to 72 inches high)
- Carrying (e.g., large cans, pizza sauce, trays of dough)
- Pushing and pulling (trays, dollies)
- Climbing stairs or ladders occasionally
- Bending, stooping, squatting as needed
- Reaching continuously; hand tasks requiring eye‑hand coordination
