Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable, energetic Assistant Manager to help oversee the daily operations of our fast-paced sports bar and restaurant. The Assistant Manager works closely with the General Manager and management team to provide excellent guest service, lead and support team members, maintain restaurant standards, and ensure smooth operations throughout each shift.
This is a hands-on management position for someone who is comfortable working alongside the team while also providing leadership and direction.
Responsibilities
- Assist with opening and closing the restaurant and completing required opening/closing procedures
- Lead FOH operations during assigned shifts and help ensure smooth, efficient service
- Supervise, coach, and support servers, bartenders, hosts, expos, and other team members
- Maintain high standards for guest service and promptly address guest concerns
- Help ensure food and beverages are prepared and delivered accurately and efficiently
- Monitor restaurant cleanliness, organization, and overall appearance
- Ensure employees follow company policies, food safety procedures, alcohol-service requirements, and sanitation standards
- Assist with employee training and development
- Help manage shift coverage, breaks, and staffing needs
- Monitor ticket times and coordinate with the kitchen during high-volume periods
- Assist with cash handling, register procedures, deposits, and end-of-shift paperwork as assigned
- Help monitor inventory, product levels, waste, and restaurant supplies
- Support management with daily operational tasks and communicate issues requiring follow-up
- Help create a positive, professional, and team-oriented work environment
- Step into operational positions when needed to support the team
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of restaurant supervisory, key-holder, or management experience
- Sports bar, casual dining, or high-volume restaurant experience preferred
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Dependable, organized, and able to make decisions in a fast-paced environment
- Strong guest-service and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable handling cash and basic restaurant reporting
- Ability to work effectively with both FOH and BOH team members
- Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Food Manager and alcohol-service certifications required or must be obtained within the required timeframe

- Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds as needed
Schedule & Compensation
This is a full-time hourly position averaging approximately 40 hours per week. Schedule will vary based on restaurant needs and will include evenings and weekends.
