Job summary

Açaí Bar in Pasadena is seeking an Assistant Manager to help lead our small team as we grow. This role balances hands-on supervision with a focus on service quality, inventory, and day-to-day operations.

You’ll train staff, manage shifts, handle cash and compliance, and ensure a welcoming experience for every customer. We offer paid training, flexible hours, and real room to grow in a tight-knit shop.

Qualifications

• Experience in food service, retail, or hospitality.
• Shift lead or supervisory experience is a plus.
• California Food Handler Card or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Lead shifts and keep the store running during busy rushes.
• Train, support, and motivate team members to deliver great service.
• Open and close the store, including cash handling and end-of-day procedures.
• Help manage inventory, ordering, and product quality.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and food safety standards.

Type: Part-time to full-time, 30–40 hours per week

Pay: $20–$24 per hour to start, depending on experience

Açaí Bar is a locally owned açaí and smoothie shop serving Southern California since 2020. We’re a small, tight-knit team that takes pride in fresh ingredients, fast and friendly service, and creating a spot our neighborhood loves coming back to. As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a motivated Assistant Manager to help lead our team.

What you’ll do

• Lead shifts and keep the store running smoothly during busy rushes
• Train, support, and motivate team members, setting the standard for great service
• Open and close the store, including cash handling and end-of-day procedures
• Help manage inventory, ordering, and product quality
• Keep the store clean, organized, and up to food safety standards
• Handle customer questions and resolve issues with a positive attitude
• Support the owner with scheduling, labor, and day-to-day operations

What we’re looking for

• Previous experience in food service, retail, or hospitality (shift lead or supervisory experience is a plus)
• A natural leader who stays calm and organized under pressure
• Reliable, punctual, and takes ownership of their work
• Friendly and great with customers and coworkers
• Availability for mornings, evenings, and weekends
• California Food Handler Card (or ability to get one)
