LaMar's Donuts and Coffee in Overland Park, KS is seeking an Assistant Manager to supervise staff and run shifts when the Store/General Manager is unavailable. You will interact with customers to ensure a satisfactory experience and support daily store operations.

The role requires open availability, 18+ years, and leadership in a fast-paced retail environment. You will help with scheduling, inventory, and cash handling while maintaining food safety standards.

Responsabilidades

• Inspect supplies and equipment for quality and safety standards.
• Assist with inventory control and report shortages.
• Monitor operations to minimize theft and waste.
• Coordinate repairs and maintenance of kitchen equipment.
• Approve purchases for equipment as needed.
• Ensure correct portioning before serving to customers.
• Assist with payments and loyalty/gift card transactions.
• Address customer complaints and suggestions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Title: Assistant Manager

Location: Overland Park, Kansas

Pay: $11.00‑$18.50/hour + tips

Reports To: General Manager and/or Store Manager

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Summary

Supervise the staff and run the shifts when the Store Manager and/or General Manager is not on duty; direct other employees through their daily routines and interact with customers to make sure that they have a satisfactory experience.

Responsibilities

• Must have open availability and be able to run all shifts around the Store Manager and General Manager’s schedules. Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Open and close the store as necessary.
• Make mid‑day bank deposit runs.
• Hire and fire staff as necessary, often times under the direction of the store manager and/or general manager.
• Create and hand over crew schedules and ensure that they are followed properly.
• Supervise staff to make sure that they perform their duties with customer satisfaction in mind.
• Train new crew members to handle food preparation and serving duties as necessary.
• Provide workers with information on food safety, sanitation, personal hygiene and any company policies, procedures, standards, and processes.
• Inspect food supplies, dishware and flatware and food preparation equipment to ensure quality and standards.
• Assist with inventory control of food, equipment, and supplies and report any shortages or inconsistencies to the designated staff.
• Keep an eye on operational issues such as theft and wastage and establish protocols to minimize them.
• Ensure that kitchen equipment is maintained on a regular basis and arrange for repairs in a timely manner.
• Make reports of equipment wear and tear and sanction purchase of new equipment.
• Ensure that food portions and courses are appropriate before they are served to customers.
• Assist in processing payments through the cash register, credit card terminals, and also with loyalty and gift card transactions.
• Listen and address customers’ complaints and suggestions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Valid Driver’s License - must meet insurance underwriting requirements.

Qualifications

Language Ability: Ability to read, analyze, and clearly interpret general business operations in English. Ability to clearly and effectively communicate/present information and respond to questions from corporate headquarters, regional manager, customers, and the general public. Ability to supervise and train newly hired staff effectively.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems and determine solutions.
