Job summary

LaMar's Donuts and Coffee in Wichita, KS is seeking a Shift Manager to supervise staff and run shifts when the Store Manager is not on duty. You will direct daily routines, interact with customers, and ensure a satisfactory experience.

Responsibilities include opening and closing, scheduling, training, food safety, inventory, and cash handling. You will coordinate with store leadership, address customer concerns, and maintain quality standards to support smooth store operations.

Job Title: Shift Manager

Reports To: General Manager and/or Store Manager

FLSA Status: Non Exempt

Pay: $10.50 to $17.50/hour: tips possible

Summary

Supervise staff and run shifts when the Store Manager and/or General Manager is not on duty; direct other employees through their daily routines and interact with customers to ensure they have a satisfactory experience.

Duties And Responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Must have open availability and be able to run all shifts around the Store Manager’s and General Manager’s schedules. Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Open and close the store as necessary.
• Make mid-day bank deposit runs.
• Hire and fire staff as necessary, often under the direction of the Store Manager and/or General Manager.
• Create and distribute crew schedules and ensure they are followed properly.
• Supervise staff to ensure they perform their duties with customer satisfaction in mind.
• Train new crew members to handle food preparation and serving duties as necessary.
• Provide workers with information on food safety, sanitation, personal hygiene, and company policies, procedures, standards, and processes.
• Inspect food supplies, dishware, flatware, and food preparation equipment to ensure quality and standards are met.
• Assist with inventory control of food, equipment, and supplies, and report any shortages or inconsistencies to the designated staff.
• Monitor operational issues such as theft and waste and establish protocols to minimize them.
• Ensure that kitchen equipment is maintained on a regular basis and arrange for repairs in a timely manner.
• Report equipment wear and tear and approve the purchase of new equipment.
• Ensure that food portions and courses are appropriate before they are served to customers.
• Assist in processing payments through the cash register, credit card terminals, and loyalty and gift card transactions.
• Listen to and address customers’ complaints and suggestions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
