Procurement Forecasts

Receive monthly rolling forecasts from the distribution centre. Based on these forecasts, run the sales and operations planning program between the 25th and 28th of every month. Validate the material requirement reports and confirm that the plan is effective and meets market requirements.

Material Requirement Planning and SAP Coordination

Perform in-depth analysis and validate the parameters of the ‘Material Requirement Plan’ computed in SAP, once every three months. As the SAP coordinator for Materials Management, be responsible for all changes and upgrades made in SAP related to materials management.

Vendor Support

Support vendors in planning their quarterly and half-yearly deliveries to the Baddi plant by generating and releasing the ‘Vendor Forecasting’ reports to all vendors between the 1st and 7th of every month.

Purchase Order Generation

Generate purchase orders based on the Material Requirement Plan. Verify details such as quantity, value, vendor information, tax structure, and specification codes. Select the most cost-effective mode of transport to control freight budgets. Update suppliers on design specification changes and ensure deliveries comply with revised designs.

Subcontractor Performance Management

Plan production targets for subcontractors based on market requirements. Monitor volumes and lead times achieved by subcontractors. Identify issues such as material shortages, maintenance problems, or process issues, and coordinate with relevant functions to resolve them. Review subcontractor performance monthly and support efforts to reduce lead times.

Inventory Control

Maintain inventory value and ‘Days Inventory’ as per targets. Monitor stock levels daily. Plan procurement based on lead times, current inventory, and production needs. Reschedule material deliveries as needed. Ensure safety stocks of all items for C60 and Valeria are maintained as per logistics parameters, preventing production disruptions due to material shortages.

Management Reporting

Prepare reports on service levels of suppliers based on SAP data, and distribute copies to the supply chain head, corporate purchasing team, and vendors. Generate inventory reports weekly for the supply chain head and the Asia Pacific division in China. Prepare management reports on subcontractor performance and premium freight costs, and review these with the supply chain head.
