Job summary

Goodwill Industries of Michiana is seeking an Assistant Manager to lead a busy retail store, oversee customer service, inventory, and sales, and coach a high‑performing team under the Store Manager.

You will help drive store performance, uphold safety protocols, and foster a positive shopping experience while embodying our mission to empower people to achieve their most abundant life. This role offers $17 per hour with opportunities for growth in a mission‑driven organization.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to motivate team members and ensure accountability.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
• High school diploma or equivalent required, or the ability to obtain one through The Excel Center.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with employees, customers, and management.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to resolve concerns and ensure satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Take part in regular meetings to review store performance and help develop improvement strategies.
• Implement and enforce safety protocols to maintain a secure environment for employees and customers.
• Take appropriate disciplinary actions to maintain high standards of conduct and performance.
• Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned to help maintain effective store operations and team success.
• Monitor and mitigate potential security risks, including internal theft and shoplifting.
