Job description

We are seeking a motivated Assistant Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of a fast-paced retail store. This role ensures all aspects of the store run smoothly, including customer service, inventory control, and sales. You will foster a positive and welcoming environment for customers while supporting and developing a productive team. Reporting to the Store Manager, this role is integral to achieving operational excellence and providing an exceptional shopping experience. Responsibilities

• Recruit, hire, and train team members to build a competent, diverse, and motivated workforce
• Take part in regular meetings to review store performance and help develop improvement strategies
• Enforce safety procedures to ensure a safe and secure environment for both employees and customers
• Oversee and coordinate daily store operations, including sales floor activities, merchandising, inventory management, and customer service
• Take appropriate disciplinary actions to maintain high standards of conduct and performance
• Ensure all departments work collaboratively to achieve store goals and optimize workflow efficiency
• Monitor and mitigate potential security risks, including internal theft and shoplifting
• Maintain clear communication with the Store Manager regarding operations, staff performance, and store challenges
• Monitor employee performance, provide coaching and feedback, and support professional development
• Support in creating and executing corrective action plans to resolve operational concerns
• Perform other duties as assigned to support store operations and team success

Qualifications

• Reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and proof of insurance for travel between job sites
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with employees, customers, and management
• Experience cultivating a positive, supportive, and productive workplace environment
• High school diploma or equivalent required, or the ability to obtain one through The Excel Center
• Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screening
• Solid customer service abilities, including resolving concerns and maintaining customer satisfaction
• Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to motivate team members and ensure accountability

Compensation

$17 per hour
