Job summary

VOX Kitchen, part of Kei Concepts in Orange County, seeks an Assistant Manager to lead daily restaurant operations and the team. You will drive sales, control costs, and maintain high standards of food quality, cleanliness, and guest satisfaction in a full-time in-person role.

You will work closely with the General Manager to develop staff, ensure compliance with health and safety rules, and foster a consistently positive guest experience across shifts, including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• 2–3+ years of restaurant management experience.
• Restaurant or food industry experience.
• Strong knowledge of front-of-house operations and food & beverage service.
• ServSafe Alcohol Certification, if applicable.
• Strong leadership, decision-making, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with POS systems and basic cash-handling procedures.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support daily restaurant operations and ensure guests receive friendly, responsive, and professional service.
• Maintain standards for food quality, preparation, presentation, cleanliness, sanitation, and restaurant appearance.
• Hire, train, schedule, coach, and develop restaurant team members.
• Support staffing and labor management based on anticipated business needs.
• Monitor employee attendance, performance, and adherence to company policies.
• Assist with cash handling, reconciliation, receiving, paperwork, reports, and schedules.
• Ensure compliance with applicable health, safety, and labor requirements.
• Address operational issues and provide recommendations to restaurant leadership.
• Support incident reporting and workplace investigations when necessary.
• Step into restaurant operations as needed to maintain efficient service.

The Assistant Manager supports the planning, organization, training, and leadership of restaurant operations while helping the team achieve goals related to sales, costs, employee retention, guest satisfaction, food quality, cleanliness, and sanitation.
