Job summary

ISMIRA Agency actively recruits for an Assistant Maître d’Hôtel on Scylla AG ships. You’ll support the Maître d’Hôtel, ensure smooth restaurant, bar, room service and sundeck service, and help train crew to deliver a warm, memorable guest experience.

Requirements include hotel or river cruise F&B experience, strong English, and teamwork. Seasonal contracts March–November, with food and accommodation provided on board.

Qualifications

• Experience in hotel or river cruise F&B operations.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and listening skills.
• Guest-focused, calm under pressure and solution oriented.
• Open-minded, flexible and culturally aware.
• Developing leadership and organizational skills.
• Fluent in English; German is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Assist with professional service in restaurant, bar, room service and sundeck.
• Greet guests, respond to concerns and ensure satisfaction.
• Take orders, manage a station for up to 50 guests and present service.
• Promote beverage sales and provide wine service onboard.
• Ensure knowledge of menu offerings and allergens.
• Support embarkation, welcome guests and escort to cabins.
• Maintain HACCP hygiene standards and handle items responsibly.
• Act as the right hand of Maître d’Hôtel and support leadership.
• Assist daily team briefings and menu introductions.
