Job summary

The Tipton Group is seeking an Assistant Maintenance Technician to join our apartment community. You will assist with daily maintenance tasks, repairs, and make-ready work to ensure a safe and comfortable home for residents.

Requirements include at least 2 years of maintenance experience, HVAC, electrical and plumbing basics, EPA certification, and the ability to use personal tools. We value teamwork, reliability, and a strong customer service mindset.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of maintenance experience, preferably in multifamily or apartment maintenance.
• Basic working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and general repairs.
• EPA certified.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must have and be able to use personal maintenance tools.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Professional attitude and strong customer service skills.
• Dependable, organized, and able to manage multiple maintenance tasks.
• Available to be on-call for after-hours emergency maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily maintenance requests and repairs throughout the apartment community.
• Troubleshoot and perform basic repairs involving plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and general maintenance.
• Help prepare vacant apartments for new residents by completing necessary repairs and make-ready tasks.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance to help keep equipment and building systems operating efficiently.
• Maintain the appearance of the community through grounds upkeep, trash removal, and light landscaping.
• Respond to resident service requests in a timely, professional, and courteous manner.
• Assist the Lead Maintenance Technician with property inspections, repairs, and other maintenance projects.
• Participate in the on-call rotation for after-hours maintenance emergencies.
• Follow company safety procedures and help maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
