A leading property management company is seeking a Maintenance Technician in Houston, Texas. The successful candidate will perform repairs and maintenance on residential apartments, assisting in renovations and addressing service requests while ensuring a safe and compliant work environment.

SUMMARY: Performs specific carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, masonry, and appliance repairs in residential apartment communities by performing the following duties:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: are listed below and will always include those specifically assigned by the immediate supervisor.
•Assist the Maintenance Supervisor in completing the turn-key apartment renovations and make ready process.
•Performs work in response to Maintenance Service Requests.
•Performs all general repair and maintenance related to the interior and exterior of the apartment community, including drywall and painting.
•Sets up and operates machine tools such as a grinder, drill, power saw, and other power-tools.
•Repairs cabinets, countertops, doors, trim, and other wood structures.
•Assembles, installs and repairs pipes, fittings, and fixtures for heating, water and drainage.
•Repairs fences, gates, walls and walkways.
•Assists the Maintenance Supervisor in maintaining inventory and inventory controls.
•Participates in after hours and emergency response.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position has limited supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High-school diploma or general education certificate (GED)with one-year certificate from a college or technical school; or six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and governmental regulations. Ability to write legibly and clearly. Ability to communicate with and other employees.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: HVAC certification requirement may vary by applicable state and local regulations and/or property conditions. Complete and pass the Fair Housing test administered in company training. Valid state driver’s license
