Job Description

The Holiday Inn Express is currently seeking individuals for the position of Assistant Maintenance Engineer to join our team at our StepStone Hospitality-managed hotel. As our Assistant Maintenance Engineer, you will maintain the hotel's assets through ongoing preventative maintenance programs and ensure that all mechanical systems operate according to the hotel's and StepStone Hospitality's standards. You will promote quality service to achieve maximum guest satisfaction. Scheduled hours will vary weekly between Monday and Sunday, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays.

The responsibilities of the Assistant Maintenance Engineer include but are not limited to:

1. Assist with maintaining the hotel, performing minor and routine painting, plumbing, electrical wiring, and other related maintenance activities.
2. Replace air conditioner filters.
3. Maintain air conditioners, cooling towers, and boilers to provide heat, cool air, and hot water for guests.
4. Maintain standards of quality guest service.
5. Tend to the pool area, including chemical balancing and cleaning.
6. Increase guest satisfaction by delivering an exceptional product through employee development.
7. Respond to and resolve guest requests, complaints, or questions courteously and promptly.
8. Remove debris and clean driveways and garage areas.
9. Shampoo carpets using a shampoo machine.
10. Put away all incoming supplies and deliveries.
11. Report to the Housekeeping Manager and Chief Engineer.

Requirements

• Minimum lifting of 70 pounds.
• Pushing, bending, stooping, upward reaching, manual dexterity.
• Hearing, writing, typing.
• Minimum pulling of 70 pounds.
• Other duties may be assigned.
