Job summary

Henderson Health and Rehabilitation is seeking an experienced Assistant Maintenance Director to support the daily operations of our facility’s maintenance department. You will help manage building, grounds, equipment, and systems, ensuring safety, accessibility, and compliance for residents and staff.

We value hands-on problem solvers who can lead maintenance staff and coordinate with vendors, departments, and leadership to keep our facility running smoothly and safely.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred, or equivalent experience.
• Experience in building or facility maintenance.
• Supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of building maintenance and repair.
• Experience with plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting.
• Ability to operate maintenance and grounds equipment.
• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and ability to work with residents and staff.
• Ability to respond to maintenance emergencies.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Maintenance Director with daily operations.
• Help oversee upkeep of building, grounds, equipment, and systems.
• Assist with work orders prioritization and completion.
• Perform hands-on maintenance and repairs.
• Assist with plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting repairs.
• Conduct routine inspections of facility and grounds.
• Identify safety hazards and address them promptly.
• Maintain maintenance records and documentation.
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors as directed.
• Ensure safety procedures are followed and area kept clean.
• Collaborate with other departments to address needs.
• Provide training and orientation to maintenance staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
