Job summary

Packaging Corporation of America (PCA) is seeking a production operator for the 2nd shift at our Madison, AL facility. You will operate production equipment to maintain steady workflow, inspect output for quality, and support changeovers with the machine crew.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a strong safety mindset, teamwork, and effective communication. Overtime and weekend work may be required, with a starting wage around $20.25 per hour.

Shift: 2nd shift (Mon-Thurs 3:30pm-2:00am)

Pay rate: $20.25

Location: 222 Celtic Dr Madison, AL

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform a variety of manufacturing tasks using Production Equipment to ensure steady workflow.

Ensure a high quality product is coming off the machine.

Conduct quality checks to ensure boxes have required dimensions and zero material defects.

Lead machine crew with setups/change overs.

Problem solve when issues with the machine arise.

Complete necessary reports.

Other duties as assigned.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or GED.

Strong safety background and good attendance record.

Works well in a team environment.

Ability to work any shift, including overtime and weekends.

Strong mechanical aptitude and be good communicator.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Previous experience operating corrugated printing equipment.

Experience in a packaging or other manufacturing environment, with an understanding that temperatures and volumes of work may vary.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

• Starting salary for position: $20.25 per hour.
• Bonus: Annual - Based upon achievement of plant performance metrics.
• Paid Vacation: 1 week per calendar year. Pro-rata Vacation during the initial year of hire based upon start date within the calendar year.
