Job summary

Packaging Corporation of America (PCA) is hiring for a production operator in Madison, AL. This on-site role operates production equipment to keep a steady workflow and ensure quality. The 2nd shift runs Mon-Thurs from 3:30pm-2:00am with a starting rate of $20.25 per hour.

You will lead a machine crew, perform quality checks, and complete reports while adhering to safety and attendance standards. Eligible for benefits and a 401(k) plan.

Shift: 2nd shift (Mon-Thurs 3:30pm-2:00am)

Pay rate: $20.25

Location: 222 Celtic Dr Madison, AL

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform a variety of manufacturing tasks using Production Equipment to ensure steady workflow.
• Ensure a high quality product is coming off the machine.
• Conduct quality checks to ensure boxes have required dimensions and zero material defects.
• Lead machine crew with setups/change overs.
• Problem solve when issues with the machine arise.
• Complete necessary reports.
• Other duties as assigned.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Strong safety background and good attendance record.
• Works well in a team environment.
• Ability to work any shift, including overtime and weekends.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and be good communicator.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Previous experience operating corrugated printing equipment.
• Experience in a packaging or other manufacturing environment, with an understanding that temperatures and volumes of work may vary.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

• Starting salary for position: $20.25 per hour.
• Bonus: Annual - Based upon achievement of plant performance metrics.
• Paid Vacation: 1 week per calendar year. Pro-rata Vacation during the initial year of hire based upon start date within the calendar year.
