Job summary

Stevens Memorial Library in North Andover seeks an experienced Assistant Library Director to support the Director in daily operations, budgeting, staff oversight and program development.

The successful candidate will coordinate collections, public programming, partnerships with town departments, and ensure excellent customer service while advancing the library's FY2023–FY2027 strategic plan.

Qualifications

• MLS or Master’s in Library Science or related field plus 7–10 years in library management.
• Experience with budgeting, staffing, and program planning.
• Knowledge of public library operations, MN state/federal guidelines, and municipal administration.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director in daily library operations and staff management.
• Draft schedules, review time off, and assist budgeting and expenditures.
• Oversee public health, safety, and customer service.
• Develop and implement library policies.
• Coordinate recruitment and training of staff and volunteers.
• Collaborate with departments and partners for programming and grants.
