Job summary

Job Description

This full-time internship experience is designed to provide an individual the opportunity to grow and develop the necessary skills needed to advance their career into the field of student-athlete academic support. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Learning Assistance Program (LAP), the Assistant Learning Specialist will work with the LAP team to provide one-on-one support to student-athletes who have education-impacting disabilities or who are academically at-risk. This position will require the ability to work a flexible schedule, to include nights and weekends.

Required Qualifications
  • Completion of a related master's degree, active progress towards completing a master's degree, or an active plan to obtain a master's degree or possess an equivalent level of training and/or experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with the ability to develop written reports.
  • Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with various stakeholders in a time-sensitive environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of NCAA eligibility bylaws.
  • Experience in student-athlete academic support services.

Additional Information

Anticipated Start Date: Monday, August 10, 2026

Anticipated End Date: Wednesday, May 19, 2027

No more than 40 hours/week and will not work during the following periods: November 23-27, 2026; December 22, 2023-January 1, 2027; March 6-14, 2027.

The successful candidate will be required to have a criminal conviction check.
