Job description

Assistant Learning Specialist (Learning Assistance Program) - Full Description

This full-time internship experience is designed to provide an individual with the opportunity to grow and develop the necessary skills needed to advance their career into the field of student‑athlete academic support.

Reporting to the Assistant Director of Learning Assistance Program (LAP), the Assistant Learning Specialist will work with the LAP team to provide one‑on‑one support to student‑athletes who have education‑impacting disabilities or who are academically at‑risk. This position requires the ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.

Required Qualifications
  • Completion of a related master’s degree, active progress towards completing a master’s degree, or an active plan to obtain a master’s degree or possess an equivalent level of training and/or experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with the ability to develop written reports.
  • Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with various stakeholders in a time‑sensitive environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of NCAA eligibility bylaws.
  • Experience in student‑athlete academic support services.

Not exceeding 40 hours/week, no work during November 23‑27, 2026; December 22, 2023‑January 1, 2027; March 6‑14, 2027.

The successful candidate will be required to have a criminal conviction check.
