Job summary

ProAmpac in Cary, IL is hiring for a skilled labor role in a fast-paced, safety-oriented manufacturing environment. The position runs Monday through Friday from 2pm to 12am, offering comprehensive benefits and opportunities for growth within a leading global flexible packaging company.

Initial rate is $19.50 per hour with a salary range of $18.75–$23 per hour depending on experience. As an essential employer, ProAmpac emphasizes safety PPE, quality, and teamwork across departments.

Qualifications

• Skilled Labor experience preferred.
• 1-2 years experience preferred.
• Proactive; exercises sound judgment and decision-making; able to identify problems and needs and develop solutions and/or options.

Responsibilities

• Assists with machine setup, prepares machinery for operation by setting up tools, loading materials, and adjusting settings as directed by the primary operator.
• Provides raw material or component supply to lamination machines to maintain materials flow and production levels.
• Monitors lamination machine operations and notifies supervisor of issues or malfunctions.
• Assists with routine maintenance such as cleaning, lubricating, or replacing parts to ensure machine operation and safety.
• Troubleshoots minor technical issues and performs minor repairs or adjustments under supervision.
• Fills in or temporarily runs the machine during shift changes as necessary.
• Maintains a safe, clean, and organized work environment and handles debris or waste materials.
• Adheres to safety guidelines; uses PPE and reports hazards.
• Completes production logs and reports as required (production output, downtime, maintenance).
• Works with maintenance, material handling, quality, inventory, scheduling, supervisors, customer service and other team members as directed.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assists with machine setup, prepares machinery for operation by setting up tools, loading materials, and adjusting settings as directed by the primary operator.
• Supplies raw material or compotent specific to the lamination machine as needed, ensuring a steady flow of materials to maintain efficient production levels.
• Monitors lamination machine operations, observes the machine during operation to ensure the machine is running as expected, notifying the primary operator or supervisor of any issues or malfunctions.
• Assists with routine maintenance, such as cleaning, lubricating, or replacing parts, adjusting machine settings, or other standard practices to ensure proper operation of the machine and to maintain quality, efficiency, and safety standards.
• Troubleshoots minor technical issues, performs minor repairs or adjustments under the guidance of the primary operator or maintenance personnel.
• Ability to fill-in or temporarily run the machine during shift changes, or as necessary.
• Maintains a safe, clean, and organized work environment by performing standard tasks such as removing debris or waste materials.
• Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures, to prevent accidents or injuries. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment(PPE) as required by safety policies and reports any safety hazards or concerns to the appropriate team member.
• Completes production logs or reports as required for documentation purposes, including but not limited to, production output, machine downtime, or any maintenance or repair activities.
• Effectively works with other departments or team members including maintenance, material handling, quality, inventory, scheduling, supervisors, customer service, or any other members of the production team as directed by supervisors.
• All other duties as assigned.
